Anwesha

IIT Patna’s annual techno-cultural-management festival brings together competitions, performances and student creativity

Overview

Anwesha is the annual techno-cultural-management festival of the Indian Institute of Technology Patna. It brings students and visiting participants together for a broad programme spanning cultural performances, competitions, creative activities and management-oriented events.

The festival is organised through IIT Patna’s student community and its House of Socio-Cultural Affairs, creating a large campus gathering centred on participation, creativity and exchange.

Important dates

  • January–February — Anwesha is generally held during the winter period.
  • Festival days — The programme typically runs across about three days, with competitions and performances scheduled throughout.

Why is it celebrated?

Creative expression — Anwesha gives students opportunities to present abilities in music, dance, drama, visual arts, public speaking and other creative fields.

Student participation — The festival provides a setting for students from different institutions to compete, collaborate and exchange ideas outside the classroom.

History

Anwesha developed as IIT Patna’s major student-led techno-cultural festival, combining the institute’s technical environment with music, performance, arts, literary activities and management-oriented competitions.

Over time, the festival has expanded its programme and participation, while remaining organised around student clubs, volunteers and the House of Socio-Cultural Affairs.
